Growth and suc­cess for the Fin­nish food in­dust­ry

We bring together the views of our member companies in the versatile food sector and its operating environment in Finland.

We are needed because the combat against climate change and other global trends are challenging the entire food sector to change.   

Our goal is an attractive, successful and developing food industry that creates well-being in Finland.   

To achieve this goal:  

• We promote efficiency in labour market and enhance the attractiveness of the food sector.
• We build operating environment of the food sector for profitable business growth in Finland.   
• Together with our member companies, we strengthen the appreciation of the food sector and the awareness of its responsibility.
• We work closely with stakeholders to ensure the success of the entire food chain at home and abroad.

Our work is guided by three strategic themes: work and skills, predictable domestic market, and responsibility and sustainability.    

We make a difference at home and in the EU  

Our lobbying work is not just promoting interests of food industry, but also about securing stakeholder support and engaging in public debate.      

We represent food industry companies operating in Finland in labour market issues and industrial policy.  ETL represents its member companies in collective bargaining and labour market issues.

We have 260 member companies and a cooperation agreement with the Finnish Meat Trade Association and the Finnish Bakery Federation. Our work covers all sectors of the food industry and almost all industrial food production in Finland.   

Around 75 per cent of our member companies are small and medium-sized. The food industry in Finland is characterized by a high proportion of SMEs.  

Our experts follow developments in the food industry from many perspectives. We continuously collaborate with other actors in the food chain and with policy makers in society. We operate actively in Finland and in the EU.  

In Finland, we are a member of Confederation of Finnish Industries (EK).

We are a member of FoodDrinkEurope, the umbrella organisation for the European food industry, and European Brand Association AIM.

Our specialists and representatives of member companies participate in the working groups of our partner organisations actively.
